Piecemaker - The superior Chipper/Shredder

Is your garden dry, parched and brown? Make the Piecemaker your garden drought buster – mulch and conserve water!

How will mulch help your garden?

Mulch your garden to retain moisture, suppress weed growth and to assist in keeping the soil temperature down. A layer of mulch at least 5-7cm helps to retain moisture in the soil by preventing evaporation through heat and drying winds. Studies have shown that mulching to a depth of 15-30cm may reduce the amount of water evaporation from the surface by up to 50%. Deeper mulches are still more effective. The Greenfield Piecemaker chips solid wood and bark to around 5mm and lighter material such as leaves or grass will be cut longer up to 12cm. The Piecemaker is designed this way so that the shredded material will break down uniformly. The more bulky lighter material keeps the compost open and allows important fresh air to the heap thus avoiding rotting.

Look at this quality valuable Piecemaker chips!

Piecemaker will pay for itself

Pure wood and bark chips can be expensive to buy, already prepared, but it is inexpensive to make your own. The Piecemaker shredder will pay for itself in supplying all kinds of mulching material, including bark and wood chips. Expensive chip bark for orchid culture can be made in seconds.

Piecemaker – no tangle jamming or clogging

The BIG, easy to load, Hopper will accommodate all garden refuse. There is no jamming or clogging thanks to the Piecemaker’s patented macerator blades and impellor vacuum action which ejects chips at 200 kms per hour. The macerator blades revolve around the Piecemaker central shaft stopping any possible tangling of vine or stringy material around the shaft.

Piecemaker compare these features

Hopper is made out of steel not plastic - zinc coated no rust. Takes solid timber up to 60mm thick down the branch chute. No belts to stretch or break - low maintenance. The Piecemaker is not a flail shredder so there is nothing for vines or palm frond cords to tangle around. Piecemaker can be used with or without the catcher. When using the catcher it seals completely thus stopping any debris being dumped on lawns. Engine is over the axle which allows for easy moving. Engines being used are all easy start. You can make shredded material even finer simply by catching and recycling back through the hopper. Due to the fine blade being used the Piecemaker utilizes the available engine power much better than a flail shredder. The Greenfield Mowers Piecemaker is the best shredder in the domestic market.

Piecemaker’s work does not stop in the garden

Due to the Piecemaker’s fine cut it is used in many applications for which it was not originally made. The Piecemaker is building a reputation as a fine seed cracker in the cattle industry. The Piecemaker, whilst not made as a hay chaffer, still produces a reasonable result. Horse mixes of lucerne, oats, sunflower seed and other ingredients can be put through the Piecemaker for a fine mix. If you have a particular need to chop organic matter may we suggest that you take a sample to your nearest Greenfield Mowers dealer. They will be happy to demonstrate the cutting ability of the Greenfield Piecemaker.
